Julie Monro-Allison draws on the technologies and methodologies of craft and contemporary art to explore relationships between people and their environments. Abundant in narrative and imagination, her practice investigates and reflects upon the navigation of emotional terrain; craft, land and identity; and the attraction of remote and impossible places both figurative and real. Working with varied media primarily within the disciplines of sculpture, drawing and textiles, her artistic choices are shaped by a commitment to environmental sustainability.
