Julie Monro-Allison works with weaving and other textile methods to make sculptural forms. Her work is motivated by a curiosity about the nature of the relationships between organisms and the spaces in which they exist. Julie is a PhD candidate at the Australian National University (currently under examination). Her practice-led research investigates how bodily experiences of inter-subjectivity and kinship might be evoked in non-figurative works of art, focusing on experiences of generation and gestation.
